Flinthills FFA October Update

October has been a busy and exciting month for Flinthills FFA! Our members have been working hard to develop their agricultural knowledge, strengthen their leadership skills, and serve our community through a variety of contests and chapter activities.

Throughout the month, members competed in Land Judging and Homesite Evaluation, Entomology, and Dairy Cattle Career Development Events (CDEs). These contests challenge students to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world agricultural situations while building critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

One of the highlights of the month was our District Dairy Cattle CDE in Kingman, where more than 500 students competed! Our Greenhand team, made up of first-year agricultural education students, earned 1st place overall as a team. Individually, Makinsey placed 3rd, Luke placed 7th, Brentley placed 9th, and Braylin placed 21st. Our senior team also had an impressive showing, earning 4th place overall. Lane earned an individual medal with a 9th-place finish, while Cohen placed 16th and Rylee placed 17th. We are incredibly proud of our members for their hard work and dedication!

Beyond competitions, our chapter enjoyed time together during our annual pumpkin carving event, giving members an opportunity to connect outside the classroom and celebrate the fall season. Members also demonstrated their commitment to agricultural education and community service by volunteering at the Andover Water Festival, helping teach students about water conservation, water quality, and the importance of natural resources through interactive educational stations.

We are proud of the effort our members continue to put forth both in and out of the classroom. With four team plaques earned across our first three contests, along with numerous individual medals, our chapter is off to an exciting start! We look forward to building on this momentum as we continue growing leaders, strengthening our agricultural knowledge, and serving our community throughout the rest of the school year.

It's a great time to be a Flinthills FFA member!
