Superintendent Mr. Boldra

Welcome to Flinthills!

USD #492 Flinthills is a rural school district in Butler County that rests just east of El Dorado, but with quick access to the Wichita area.  Our district spans 389 square miles and serves over 290 students K-12.  Our Primary School (PreK-2) positioned in Cassoday offers a country school setting with lots of love.  I would strongly encourage you to check out the video located under the Primary (PreK-2) tab to see the students' morning pledge!  The Intermediate School (3-5), Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12) are all on one campus that resides in Rosalia.  In addition to an exceptional education, Flinthills offers many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities on wonderful facilities.  Again, I encourage you to look at the list of activities as well as the facilities that Flinthills provides.  Flinthills has a wonderful faculty and staff that truly care about kids.  If you are new or moving to the area, and would like a tour of our district and facilities, be sure to contact us at (620) 476-2237, and we will be glad to show you around the best kept secret in Butler County!

Mr. Boldra earned his Bachelor's and Master's degree at the University of Kansas. He earned his Building and District Leadership Certificates through Emporia State University.  He is currently in his fourth year at USD #492 Flinthills as the Superintendent, and proud to be a Mustang!

Biographical Information

I am the oldest of four children, and was raised in Hays, Kansas.  My mother was a middle and high school teacher while I was growing up, but now teaches at Fort Hays State University.  My Father was a draftsman, and then started his own sporting goods business specializing in hunting, fishing, and bicycling.  I learned many trades working in that family-owned store after school, on the weekends, and during the summers.  I graduated from Hays High School, and went onto college at the University of Kansas.  I landed my first teaching/coaching job at White Rock Middle School in Esbon, Kansas.  After three years and talks of consolidation, I took a job teaching at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.  I taught for seven years there and met my beautiful wife, Bryna.  I then accepted the position as the Athletic Director at SMNW.  We had our first child, Landon, in 2007, and in 2008, we moved to Moran, Kansas, where I had taken a job as the Junior and Senior High Prinicpal.  In 2010, we had our second child, Keenan, and in 2013, I accepted my first Superintendent job at Solomon.  Moving to Flinthills has geographically placed us more equidistant from our parents, as Bryna is from Fort Scott, Kansas.
