Ms. Cheryl Cook

Flinthills Middle / High School Principal - Grades 7-12

I was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in Sabetha, Kansas. I graduated from Sabetha High School in 1975 and attended college at Colorado State University, then transferring to Kansas State University. I graduated in 1980 with a B.S in Education with a focus in Family & Consumer Science.  I started teaching in 1997 at Horton High School in Horton, Kansas.  Horton is a small community of approximately 2,000 people.  I taught for eleven years while working on my degree in Educational Administration.  I graduated from Emporia State University in 2006 with an M.S. degree in Educational Administration and started my career as a Principal at Clifton-Clyde Unified School District.  After three years as a principal, I accepted a position as Superintendent with Clifton-Clyde Unified School District. After one year Superintendent in Clifton-Clyde, I accepted a position of Superintendent in Deerfield, Kansas, a community of 700 in southwest Kansas.  I was in Deerfield for two years, from 2011 to 2015.  In 2015 I was offered the position of Superintendent of Schools in Lyndon, Kansas, a community of 1,050 and a student enrollment of 435 students.  I was in Lyndon for the past two years before being offered the opportunity of being the 7-12 Principal at Flinthills Unified School District. I have a total of 19 years of experience as an educator in Kansas, three of those years as 9-12 Principal and five of those years have been as a Superintendent of Schools.  I look forward to the opportunity to work closely with students and teachers in the area of curriculum and instruction.
