White Eagle Credit Union Scholarship Guidelines 2022

White Eagle Credit Union is offering a $500.00 scholarship to benefit a high school senior at each high school in Butler County as well as Newton High School.  This is a one-time award and non-renewable.

An additional $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of a Butler County high school or Newton High School who is also a member of WECU or a child/grandchild of a WECU member.  This scholarship will be selected by a drawing of all qualified applicants during the week of our Annual Meeting in April.  Applicants with credit union affiliation will be eligible to participate in both scholarship competitions, but may only receive one award.

The recipient must demonstrate exceptional character, community involvement, an interest in school activities and the potential for academic success.  A cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 is required for application.  The recipient must be planning to attend a trade or vocational school, a 2 year community college, or an accredited 4 year university as a full-time student (12 credit hour minimum).

Applicants should complete the application form and return it to the school’s counseling department for completion of the Academic Verification portion by March 31st, 2022.  The Board of Directors of White Eagle Credit Union will then review the applications and notify the school of their decision.  The scholarships will be announced and presented during the school’s awards program.

Recipients of this scholarship will receive the monetary compensation for this award upon showing proof of enrollment per the above guidelines as well as proof of billing or payment of fees and tuition.  All documents should be submitted to the credit union’s executive administrative assistant for scholarship payment.
