Covid-19 Music Contest

Students had to miss so many events this spring.  Larry Brownlee, the band teacher at Sterling College, decided that he wanted to give music students an opportunity to compete with their solos.  He found out from KSHSAA that it had to be voluntary and not through the schools, so he sent the link out to interested teachers and we passed them on to students who were ready to compete.  There were over 376 students state-wide who took advantage of this and Flinthills had 4 of them.

*Reagan Heimgartner, junior, recorded a vocal solo and sent it in.  She earned a I rating and will receive a special medal made just for this contest.

*Trena Garcia, sophomore, also recorded a vocal solo and sent it in.  She earned a II rating.

*Addison Cartmell recorded her clarinet solo and sent it in.  She earned a I rating and will receive a special medal made just for this contest.

*Harlee Randall recorded her alto saxophone solo and sent it in.  She also earned a I rating and will receive a special medal made just for this contest.

Congratulations, ladies!
