In just a few weeks summer vacation will be over and school will be starting again. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Flinthills USD492 District Office at (620)476-2215.
Enrollment
* Students from Kindergarten to 12th grade may be enrolled at either Flinthills High School or Flinthills Primary School at Cassoday.
* Enrollment at Flinthills High School will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010.
* Enrollment at Cassoday will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
You may enroll your children at any site regardless of their age or where they attend school. If you are unable to enroll your students on any of these days, please call the District Office to make alternative arrangements. The phone number is (620)476-2215. You may enroll by mail. Enclose the enrollment form (found under 2010-2011 School Enrollment Form). If you wish to enroll by mail, please complete the form and mail to the school with a check for your fees. First Day of Classes
The first day of school will be Monday, August 30, 2010. ALL STUDENTS WILL REPORT. School begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Students riding the bus should be ready early on the morning of August 30.
Free and Reduced Meal Application
Families that meet the income criteria may qualify for free and reduced lunch benefits. If your family qualifies, please take advantage of this service. Your family will not only benefit, but USD 492 will benefit, as well. All free and reduced lunch applications will be kept in the strictest of confidence. Only one application needs to be completed per family. Please include all family members even if they are not school age.
Instrumental Music Rental Fees
All students who are enrolled in band classes and use any instrument owned by USD492 shall be required to pay a yearly fee of $30.00. This fee will be paid at the time of enrollment. If the student does not remain in band for the entire year the fee will be refunded on a prorated scale. All fees collected will be used for the repair and replacement of school owned instruments. THis fee may be waived for students that qualify for free and reduced lunches.
Donation of Musical Instruments
Any one who has an instrument that could be used by a student in the USD 492 school district may donate the instrument to the school. The donation may be used for individual tax purposes. The school and the individual will agree upon the amount of the donation.
Inoculations
Parents are expected to provide each school principal with immunization shot records at the time of enrollment. Please bring your child's shot records at the time of enrollment. A photocopy will be made and placed in your child's cumulative file. If your child has not received their shots yet you are encouraged to contact the County Health Department, or your doctor to arrange for shots before school starts.
Athletic Physicals
Athletic Physical Evaluation Form
Any student in grades 7-12 that intends to participate in interscholastic athletics or cheerleading must have a physical form on file at school. The physical form must be completed by a physician and must be signed by your parent or guardian. Students may not participate in interscholastic competition without a physical form on file.
Fall Sports Practice
The first day of fall sports practice for grades 7-12 will begin on Monday, August 16, 2010. The coaches will let you know the times of practice.
