Mustangs Compete at ESU
From the Desk of Coach Casteel,
The Flinthills Mustangs Men's Basketball Team traveled to Emporia over the weekend of June 4th and 5th to participate in the Emporia State University Men’s Basketball Team Camp. The Team Camp Mission Statement states that the event is for High School Players with the goal of playing at the next level or improving their skills for the next season. Players will be put into game-like situations in order to improve offensively and defensively as well as build their basketball IQ.
The focus or mission of the Mustang Coaching Staff was to team build for next season and determine what style of play will be the most effective with a much younger and diverse roster for the upcoming season. The team stayed in the ESU Dorms while at the Team Camp and the Mustangs competed in 8 games (!YES 8 GAMES!) over the two days. As we approach the Mustang K-12 Summer Basketball Camp, we are provided a great opportunity to reflect on the bright future of the FHS Basketball Program. We look forward to seeing everyone June 27th!
