BUTLER RURAL ELECTRIC YOUTH TOURS & SCHOLARSHIPS
The Butler Rural Electric Youth Tours & Scholarships are available to high school Juniors who’s families use electrical service from Butler Rural Electric.  This program is an excellent opportunity for High School Juniors that live in a home serviced by Butler REC to win an expense paid week trip to Washington D. C. or Steamboat Springs, CO.  Also each student will receive a $300 scholarship at the end of their senior year.  Each year Butler REC sends two High School on a trip of a lifetime.
There is no long essay to write or a speech they have to give, the competition is a multiple choice test over information we provide and a short interview with a couple of REC employees.  The scores of these two are combined to determine the winner and runner-up.  The winner is given the option of which trip they would like to take and the runner-up is awarded the other trip with both receiving a $300 scholarship.
Any Junior who is interested please see Mr. Don Wedel, Counselor or Mr. Pat Vossen, teacher at Flinthills High School.  Applications should be completed and returned to Mr. Wedel or Mr. Vossen within the next few weeks.
